State schools offer opportunities for parents to join a Parents and Citizens' (P&C) Association. These associations are involved in a variety of school activities to support the school community from policy to financial planning as well as tuckshops, fundraising, school functions and out-of-school-hours care. Meeting details are advertised in the school newsletter and on the school Facebook page.
The P&C Association at Ipswich West State School provides all parents and carers with the opportunity to support their children and our school and to meet members of the community. P&C meetings are a forum to contribute to discussions about matters that relate to your child's school life. You are invited to join us at our meetings (children welcome) on advertised dates and times.
Our P&C Association currently has a small group of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year to play an active role in enhancing the learning environment for our children. Parent, carer and community assistance is required to ensure activities are successful and enjoyed by all.
On a daily basis, the P&C is involved in the following areas:
Providing feedback on school policies, activities and developmen
Participating in decision making, planning and budgeting
Conducts fundraising activities throughout the year
Contributing funds for the purchase of additional resources and/or experiences to be used to enhance student learning
Providing parents with opportunities to be involved in their child's education
Operating the Tuckshop
Operating the Uniform Shop
Funds raised by the P&C are reinvested back into the school to provide resources, equipment and experiences.
